This accessory kit expands your BoxBot with an Photoreflector sensor. This can turn your bot into a line follower, or bot that can detect table edges and stay within a confined space. Easily attached to the front of the BoxBot kit.

The sensors can be mounted in 2 places on the sensor bar. At each edge, or in the middle. The middle mount is spaced to allow the bot to follow lines 20mm wide. Electrical insulating tape is normally 19-20mm wide and ideal for line following.

The sensors can also be moved up and down to allow many different surfaces to be read.

The sensors are infrared photoreflectors, containing two elements, one that emits a beam of infrared light and the other, which detects that light. An object in front of this sensor will reflect light. Daylight filter is built in to reduce interference from ambient lighting. Optimal sensing distance is about 5mm (0.2 inches).
